GG NOMINEE MICHAEL CRUMMEY TO READ AT UNBSJ. Fri Nov 06  7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Ganong Hall Lecture Theatre, UNB Saint John. The Lorenzo Reading Series welcomes back Michael Crummey, reading from his gorgeous new novel, Galore. Shortlisted for the 2009 Governor General’s Award for Fiction, Galore is a fantastical tale indeed. Set in Newfoundland and spanning two centuries, it is about the power of stories to shape and sustain us.

“Michael Crummey is without a doubt one of Canada’s finest writers….the Newfoundland that exists in my imagination…smells and tastes and sounds like ‘Galore’. – The Globe and Mail

SCHEDULE CHANGE

October 26, 2009 Miriam Jones 3 comments

Folks, I would like to make the following change in the schedule: cancel class on Tues. Nov. 3 as I have a conference in Ottawa and will need to leave earlier than I had originally planned, and bump everything back one week. We have a final review class with nothing else scheduled so this should work. The only problem will be if any of you presenting cannot present one week later. Please let me know of any difficulties and we will work it out.

I think I have caught up with linking your blogs, in the sidebar to the right, and putting your names in the schedule for presentations. When you have a chance I would appreciate your doing a quick check to make sure the information is correct.

Still don’t have URLs from a few of you. Please send them on, as time’s a’ wastin’. There are also a couple of you who have not signed up for presentations. Have a look at the schedule and let me know what would work for you. And please feel free to propose a different topic, if something else strikes you.
